Your Opportunity
BDO is looking for a full-time permanent Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Development Consultant to join our Solution Operations team, with the ability to work remotely from anywhere in Canada.
As a Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Development Consultant, you will be part of BDO's fast paced and growing Solution Operations Practice.
Your primary focus will be to use your technical experience and development skills to support the client during the post Go-Live phase of client implementations.
You will need to understand their current state, including any customizations and configurations. You will support the client with any submitted requests and incidents and work with the team to identify opportunities for them to get the most out of their implementation.
Your focus would be supporting those opportunities with your technical skills and experience. This role allows for the development of various skill sets, including analytical thinking, problem-
solving, customer engagement, and innovative thinking.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
- Ownership and accountability for assigned customers’ requests.
- Understand the solutions from the customer business, functional, and technical point of view.
- Consult with the customer on desired requirements.
- Complete updates to all development tools and communicate with the customer end-user.
- Collaborate with other consultants to take requests or incidents to closure.
- Deliver development activities on time and on budget.
- Efficiently troubleshoot and problem-solve reported issues.
- Engage with the client or project manager to seek assistance.
- Create / update knowledge base entries, technical specifications, or other related documents.
- Exercise leadership through superior technical and domain knowledge.
- Proactively find solutions and manage problems.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.
- Remain up to date on development technologies.
- Provide oversight to support activities.
- Identify next steps, produce action plans, and execute on those plans.
- Perform various other duties as required.
Candidate Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
- Proficiency in C / AL, AL, and other relevant programming languages
- Strong understanding of Business Central architecture, data structures, and best practices
- Familiarity with the functional areas of the Business Central application
- Knowledge of integration tools and techniques
- Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse
- Familiarity with DevOps, Source Code Control methodologies, and modern testing processes
- Familiarity with Azure services and cloud-based deployments
- Experience and comfort level in working with customers remotely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to independently research and troubleshoot technical issues.
Nice to Have :
- Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Hands-on experience with product integrations to Business Central or PowerApps
- Power BI experience
- Experience with SQL Server, SQL scripting, and database administration.
- Experience with RDLC and Word Reporting architectures.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting language.
- Microsoft certifications in Dynamics NAV / Business Central development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
