QUALIFICATIONS :
Education, Training And Experience
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
Two years recent, related experience in immunodeficiency and Hereditary Angioedema, IVIG / SCIG administration and C1 Esterase Inhibitor administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency in intravenous therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to adverse reaction to treatment and support the patient.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SCIG / C1-INH blood products.
- Demonstrated current knowledge of patient education techniques, methods and procedures for treatment of SCIG / C1 Esterase Inhibitor patients.
- Comprehensive knowledge of blood products and current transfusion practices.
- Ability to plan and organize workload, establish priorities and accomplish objectives.
- Ability to work independently and / or collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to deal with conflict situations, new or unexpected events.
- Ability to operate related equipment including a computer and related software tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
