The opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Manager to join our Global Employment Tax Services (GETS) team to develop and lead multiple and challenging expatriate and domestic payroll engagements across a diverse client base.

You will provide comprehensive advice on Canadian cross border payroll, social security and taxation matters and also payroll consulting advisory services to Canadian domestic clients as they manage their risk exposure and capitalize on tax saving opportunities.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead, review and deliver Canadian expatriate (shadow) payroll to external clients
- Team with our mobility tax and employment tax colleagues locally and globally to providing an integrated client solution in respect to the taxation and reporting of cross border compensation
- Assist clients with employment tax audits
- Respond to expatriate and domestic payroll questions
- Assist with Canadian (domestic) payroll compliance reviews
- Manage your client book of business by adhering to client acceptance procedures, developing budgets, determining resource requirements, timely invoicing and collection of A / R
- Commit to the timely delivery of mandates and manage client expectations
- Provide guidance to more junior colleagues on both tax technical, payroll advisory and performance management skills

Skills and attributes for success
- Aptitude to work in a payroll consulting environment (both expatriate and domestic employment tax)
- Desire to work in a collaborative and professional team environment with a group of like-minded professionals
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with a strong commitment to client service
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability
- Ability to facilitate client discussions and collaborate with clients to identify engagement add-on opportunities
- Aptitude to research and resolve employment (payroll) tax questions / issues
To qualify for the role you must have
- Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in payroll advisory, Canadian cross border taxation, or expatriate payroll
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Ideally, you’ll also have
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, (Word, Excel & Power-point)
