We are currently recruitin g a Field Investigator to conduct HR Investigations.
Role Responsibilities :
- Conduct HR investigations utilizing a trauma-informed approach
- Respond to client requests with a quick, flexible and operational approach that is based on sound strategy, and coordinated with Xpera’s policies and procedures
- Conduct investigations in a manner that makes strategic sense and that are coordinated with the client’s intent, seeking guidance from management as required
- Conduct assignments in a proper investigative sequence including pre-operation planning, assignment assessment, evidence collection, and reporting
- Obtain professional quality video and photographic documentation of subjects
- Provide regular assignment progress reports to Manager verbally or by e-mail
- Closely monitor assignment timelines and budgets to ensure assignments are completed on time and within budget
- Produce accurate and detailed notes and reports in accordance with Xpera’s protocols and practices
- Obtain information or intelligence in a legal, ethical and confidential manner as required
- Attend court or legal proceedings as required
- Maintain vehicle and equipment in good working condition, suitable to work and functions.

Qualifications and Experience :
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a related social science field such as criminology, forensic crime and intelligence analysis, accounting, insurance, sociology, psychology, etc.
- Experience or aptitude in interviewing and related investigative techniques
- Previous law enforcement or insurance claims experience an asset
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Must have valid Private Investigator license for the province of British Columbia
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience conducting complex field investigations, including HR investigations.
Skills Required :
- Aptitude to conduct investigative inquiries both in person as well as over the telephone
- Aptitude to collect, analyze and disseminate investigative results in a timely manner to an appropriate audience for the purpose of meeting clients’ needs
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency working with MS Word, Outlook, and cloud-based file archival and transfer software (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams, Apple iCloud, Google WorkSpace)
- Thorough, detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and systematic thinker
- Ability to apply an investigative mindset and think outside the box
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on the task at hand, handling multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
- Effective time management, efficient and adherence to strict deadlines
- Basic understanding of threat risk assessments and analytics
- Basic knowledge of the Canadian court system and privacy legislation an asset
- Able to manage conflicting demands from various divisions and managers; adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions
