What will you be doing?
JOB OVERVIEW
Process soiled linen and distribute clean linen per standard operating procedures safely, accident-freely, as assigned by management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be dependable and prompt, arriving on time with equipment and building safety form and a nametag.
Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers following all safety practices.
Process sorted linen utilizing the washers, dryers, and folding arms provided.
Inspect linen on regular basis for tears, holes or sub-standard conditions and report any issues to the Executive Housekeeper
Notify the supervisor of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, damand damaged linens to ensure that the operation runs at maximum efficiency.
Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
Empty lint traps after each load to ensure the safety of the equipment and building.
Follow all hazardous chemical procedures.
Assist in a daily refill of clean linens, amenities, and supplies in stock rooms on each floor.
Assist the department in maintaining safety equipment and emergency procedures for the safety of all guests and employees.
Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous manner always.
May assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education / Experience :
Minimum of 1 year’s work experience in cleaning and / or housekeeping and the hospitality industry is preferred. Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit exemplary performance.
Skills :
Must be efficient and thorough.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
Strong oral communication skills are required.
Must be energetic, possessgood time management skills and be eager to grow and develop as part of a team.
Note : Will also be required to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Physical / Cognitive activities
Most of the time is spent walking and being on your feet.
This is a physically laborious role.
