Assistant Manager of Transportation Canadian Rockies Public Schools is now accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Manager of Transportation. Located in Canmore, Alberta, Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS) encompasses a large geographical area which serves seven schools, from Kindergarten Grade 12.A challenging opportunity exists for an experienced professional Assistant Manager of Transportation to play a key role in effectiveness, safety and functionality of the Student Transportation Services.SPECIFIC DUTIES Student Transportation Leadership Maintenance of the National Safety Code program as it pertains to the School Bus Industry. School Bus Fleet Maintenance according to all federal, provincial, local and school board regulations and policies, including but not limited to mechanical maintenance, repairs, inspection scheduling, etc. Ordering and maintaining stock for all parts and supplies for vehicles and daily operations of the Transportation Department. Various tasks relating to routing software. Providing complete oversight of Charter and School trips which includes dispatching and assignment of drivers for the trips and reporting through financial software. Submitting driver timesheets to payroll. Assisting with the financial budgeting and granting processes, bus tenders, staff recruiting, bus sales, routing and other tasks as assigned by the Manager. Be available weekends and evenings to address issues that may arise. Assist the Transportation Manager with student discipline issues. Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Transportation Services. QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Class 2 driver's license with S endorsement (or willing to obtain) Q endorsement would be an asset. Experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs. Knowledge of National Safety Code requirements and implementation. Familiarity with routing and financial software. Strong computer skills with knowledge of the Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Be able to work independently and as a team member. Experience in transportation services would be an asset. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.Start date : August 5, 2024Closing date for applications : Until a suitable candidate has been found.
