DMC Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading building materials supplier to hire a Logistics Team Lead / Manager for their Calgary branch. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established company with a strong market presence and significant potential for business growth.

About the Company : Our client is one of the largest retailers in the construction and renovation industries across North America. With a diverse product portfolio and well-developed client relationships, they are known for their strong leadership, commitment to growth, and customer-centric approach.

Position Overview : The Senior Lumber Yard and Logistics Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the yard and logistics team.

This leadership role is perfect for a hands-on professional who enjoys working in an outdoor environment and has a passion for construction materials, logistics, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and support contractor and retail customers, ensuring exceptional service and assisting with product selection.
  • Manage forklift operations after completing necessary training and certification.
  • Supervise saw operations in the cut shop, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain the yard, cut shop, and storage areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Oversee the unloading of transport trucks and the efficient loading and unloading of delivery drivers.
  • Participate in Health & Safety Committee meetings and complete required training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Physically fit and able to lift 35kg or more repeatedly.
  • Forklift training / certification is an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding work environment.
  • Professional, courteous, and punctual, with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to perform calculations without a calculator.
  • Previous experience in the building materials or construction industry is an asset.
