Reporting to the Superintendent - Maintenance Planning, Scheduling and Warehouse, the Warehouse Person is responsible for p urchasing, vendor quote evaluation, shipping and receiving, material verification for Power and Water Plants, and inventory management. This full-time, unionized position requires strong relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams-including plant supervisors, administrative staff, operations, and maintenance personnel-as well as external partners such as suppliers, transportation companies, and contractors.
Your key responsibilities
- Assist in operating and maintaining the corporate computerized Warehouse Inventory System.
- Evaluate material tenders, price inquiries, and recommend purchases.
- Ensures proper and adequate supply of product is on hand to meet needs
- Safeguard stock from damage, loss, theft, and misappropriation.
- Oversee shipping for repairs, source competitive pricing, and maintain after-market supplier contacts.
What you bring
Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management principles, storekeeping and purchasing policies and procedures.Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software and ability to adapt to the current integrated ERP system and applications.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a diverse organization.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.Ability to make good decisions using sound judgment and procedures.Ability to operate a forklift and perform light to medium manual lifting.Qualifications
Successful completion of a Grade 12 education. Post-secondary education an asset.Partial completion or completion of a Warehouse or Parts Technician Program considered as an asset.Minimum five (5) years of related experience in Electric Utilities and / or Stores departments or a combination of related experience.Current certification of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Forklift Certification.Current certification of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).Possess and maintain a Class 5 Alberta Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.A management approved combination of training and experience may be considered.Pay range :
