NorthStar Utilities Solutions is a leading provider of innovative technology solutions that help utility companies thrive in the digital era. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Java Software Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Java Software Developer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and support of software solutions for our clients.

This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada and the US. This role requires travel up to 10% of the time, including attending 1-2 Annual General Meetings per year and potentially visiting customer sites. A valid passport or visa is necessary for travel to Canada.

What your impact will be :

• Design, develop, and maintain software components across the NorthStar Utilities Solutions product suite
• Create, modify and maintain automated tests for continuous integration testing
• Provide resolution to defects and investigate and resolve production support incidents
• Conduct requirement discussions and provide realistic estimations for deliverables
• Provide analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality, maintainable code
• Take ownership of tasks and ensure their timely completion
• Recommend improvement to development, integration and support practices and processes
• Apply configuration management, version control, software best practices and standards
• Create and maintain technical documentation for integration solutions, including design specifications, user guides, and API documentation
• Provide transparency on work progress through daily stand-ups, work item status, and time logging
• Collaborate with a team of software developers, software quality analysts, and user experience designers
