Job Responsibilities and Required Skills

• The Database Administrator’s role is to install, monitor, maintain, secure and performance tune databases and applications while ensuring high levels of data availability and security.
• This Service Area includes, but is not limited to :
• Manages and monitors database backups and recoveries, relying on organizational skills, database administration, and computer skills to ensure database information is preserved and safeguarded. This individual will also participate in BCP planning and exercises.
• Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues using native and third-party tools.
• Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases.
• Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
