DescriptionCentre Director for Wellbeing in EducationWerklund School of EducationUniversity of CalgaryThe Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary is seeking an innovative academic scholar to assume the role of Centre Director for the Centre for Wellbeing in Education. This position is available at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track), Associate Professor or Full Professor (with tenure) - Teaching and Research, with a five-year appointment as Centre Director and the possibility of renewal.The Centre is a dynamic unit dedicated to advancing the wellbeing of children, youth, and emerging adults (ages 4-25) through a comprehensive approach to research, education, and community service, and we seek an innovative leader to drive its mission forward.The Centre Director will be at the helm of expanding the Centre's impact by developing a robust research program focused on school mental health and wellbeing. The role will involve leading high-impact research initiatives, seeking transdisciplinary collaborations both within the University and with external partners, and driving community engagement efforts. Alongside an established team, the Centre Director will exercise comprehensive oversight of all aspects of the Centre.The successful candidate will hold a completed doctorate in Educational Psychology (Counselling Psychology, School Psychology), Education or a related discipline, and have a respected research program with a national or international reputation in school mental health and wellbeing. Experience with large-scale, externally funded research projects is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to lead graduate-level teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage with professional communities.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in securing research funding, fostering collaborations and a commitment to advancing the field through innovative research and practice.
