The Corporate Controller will be a key financial leader within our client's distribution organization, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities. This individual will ensure the integrity of financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting principles, manage the accounting team, and provide strategic financial insights to support the company's growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the distribution sector and a proven track record in managing large-scale accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other applicable regulations.
- Manage the consolidation of financial data across multiple entities, ensuring consistency and transparency.
- Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
- Develop and implement financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Oversee the provision of financial analysis to the executive team, advising on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial decisions.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders, such as investors and auditors.
- Oversee tax planning and reporting, working with external tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate filing.
- Coordinate with external auditors to support annual audits and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants and other finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive process improvements within the finance department to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor key financial performance metrics, identifying trends and variances, and providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, industry standards, and best practices in the distribution industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven knowledge of accounting software systems (ERP experience)
- Experience in Auditing procedures
- Proficiency in Budget Processes and planning
- Strong skills in Financial Reporting
- Demonstrated ability to handle Month End Close procedures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- CPA certification is preferred
