Service Center & Sales Support Technician (f/m/d)

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service via phone, email, fax, or in person.
  • Co-ordinate rush deliveries with production, tech services, and purchasing.
  • Be the point of contact for Customers, Distributors and Outside Sales Staff.
  • Use SAP software to prepare proposals, quotes and order placement.
  • Use SAP software for receiving, shipping, moving, etc. of goods.
  • Track status of existing orders and shipments.
  • Maintain facility resources and tractability of documentation.
  • Support the service center unit with activities such as dismantling and cleaning mechanical seals and components, checking seal components for defects and dimensional deviations from manufacturing drawings, and static testing / dynamic testing.

Identify materials and decide if a repair is possible or replacement is required.

  • Produce reports for quotation purposes and scope of repairs.
  • Assembly / packaging seals for shipment to the customer (new and repaired).
  • Meet the requirements of EBCA Quality Standards, HSE policies, and control EBCA design & development procedures.
  • Some basic machining (manual milling, surface grinder and lapping) as part of seal repair.
  • Must be able to react to change productively and undertake other tasks as assigned.
  • Understand and execute good housekeeping, such as 5S.
  • Support Maintenance tasks when necessary (equipment, building, fixture, change of layout, machine installation).
  • Represent the department for external audits (ISO 9001, others).
  • Support annual inventory process.
  • Be an active member of the Quality Management System, auditing other departments.

Qualifications :

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related work experience.
  • Intermediate level skills with SAP, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word).
  • An advantage is a working knowledge of mechanical seals.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Knowledge of materials (metals, etc.) - technical background is a plus.
  • Ability to speak fluently and effectively to customers and employees of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solve practical problems.
  • Computer literate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Database applications.
  • Work on SAP platform.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and undertake site visits to customers.
  • Work independently or with others as needs arise.
  • Requires good judgement and a professional demeanor.
  • English is mandatory, and French is a plus.
