The Opportunity
Due to the organization’s overall growth on a national level, they have a need for a General Manager Snow and Landscape Operations / Regional President to oversee their Ottawa operations.
The GM plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of their Ottawa operations, from strategic planning and financial management to personnel supervision and client relations.
The General Manager’s overall responsibility is to ensure efficient, safe and profitable snow removal and landscape services.
Position Description
Managing the overall operations includes, but is not limited to :
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations, including snow removal / landscape crews, managing equipment and ensuring efficient service is provided
- Developing and managing the budgets for the Ottawa region
- Controlling costs to ensure company operates within budget targets
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure the company’s growth and success in the region.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Spearheading contract negotiations
- Hiring, training, coaching and mentoring staff.
- Ensuring the company complies with local regulations and safety standards.
- Managing the maintenance and repair of snow and landscape equipment.
- Overseeing routine maintenance of equipment to ensure continual working condition.
- Coordinating the logistics of snow removal operations, including timely deployment of crews, transportation of equipment and procurement and any necessary supplies to ensure operations are executed effectively and efficiently.
- Developing plans and protocols for handling emergencies, ie. severe weather conditions, equipment failures, or other unforeseen challenges.
- Implementing and monitoring quality control measures to ensure customer satisfaction and client expectations are met
Experience
- MUST have experience managing a landscape / snow removal company
- MUST have experience overseeing a $17 M + operations
- MUST have experience in a leadership role, ie. General Manager, President, Vice President, Director, Regional Manager, etc.
Education
- Minimum completion of a post-secondary degree a MUST
- An educational background in finance / accounting a strong asset
- A Business Degree / Diploma a strong asset as well
