Midland Transport is currently seeking a full-time Senior Human Resources Business Partner to be based out of Quebec Region.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the selected candidate will be a high-energy self-starter with a strong work ethic and a "Can Do" attitude.

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner will work at the Montreal Terminal (1560 Hymus Boulevard East, Dorval), supporting terminal operations across Quebec.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide expertise and hands-on support to employees and managers in a broad range of HR functions including employee engagement, performance management, succession planning, training and development, and employee and labour relations
  • Provide guidance using the Company's HR policies and practices, the Canada Labour Code, and the collective bargaining agreement
  • Enhance the Company's human resources by coaching employees and leaders to reach their performance objectives, development goals, and career aspirations
  • Proactively manage disability claims with a focus on reducing preventable incidents and coordinating the return-to-work processes to promote early and safe return to work
  • Provide support to the recruiting teams and assist business leaders with the onboarding of new hires
  • Assist site leadership teams with the onboarding of successful candidates
  • Primary liaison with our Payroll and Benefits, and Human Resources Shared Services teams
  • Assist in the implementation of Human Resources projects and initiatives and ensure alignment throughout your client groups over multiple sites and provinces

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary degree / diploma with a Human Resources focus
  • 5+ years' work experience in a Human Resources role
  • CHRL certification preferred
  • Professional demeanor and confidentiality are a must
  • Experience coaching and influencing across all levels of leadership
  • Ability to multitask while remaining flexible and managing shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated problem solving, judgment and decision-making ability
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with HRIS and employee engagement platforms an asset (HCM, Kronos, Perceptyx, etc.)
  • Experience in a Federally regulated business would be a definite asset
  • Bilingualism is required (French & English)
