Executive Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in overseeing and managing the culinary operations of The Post, ensuring exceptional quality, creativity, and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and create innovative menu offerings.
  • Oversee and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Train, mentor, and lead kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of performance.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to meet restaurant requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
  • Participate in menu development, tastings, and special culinary events.
  • Assist in developing and implementing kitchen policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, coordinating repairs and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients.
  • Contribute to cost control measures and budget management.
  • Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Step in for the Executive Chef in their absence, overseeing all kitchen operations.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent culinary and creative abilities.
  • Knowledge of kitchen best practices, including health and safety standards.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain composure.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy kitchen equipment, and work in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
