Job Description
Directs and coordinates activities of each terminal in their region to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Principal Responsibilities 40%
Ensure all terminals run on a profitable and efficient manner this includes but it not limited to monitoring freight levels, reviewing terminal financials, review daily revenues and cost. - 40%
Customer Relations and Business Development 15%
- Dealing with customer service issues such as investigating service failures, claims and develop and implement procedures to reduce problems and improve efficiency. - 10%
- Work with sales personnel to ensure service standards are maintained, customer needs are recognized and maintained, and develop new business - 5%
Management Activities 20%
- Work with terminal / garage managers to ensure service standards are met, review exceptions and resolve issues. - 10%
- Confer and cooperate with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures and implement and enforce them - 10%
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Human Resources 25%
Dealing with human resource issues. These could include but are not limited to performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing grievances and resolving complaints; and layoffs. - 5%
- Support, counsel, train and develop staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. 10%
- Support, enforce and model all Health, Safety & Environmental rules, policies and procedures. 5%
- Promote environmental awareness that is related to this position. Such as recycling, keeping windows closed when the A / C is running and turning off computers at end of day. 5%
Non-essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsibilities could be altered as the company and the region grow.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Travel is a requirement for this position.

- Computer literate; working knowledge of Microsoft suite and email.
- Recommended 5 years of previous operations experience with a multi-site organization
- Financial Literacy ability to complete cost analysis / cost reduction
- Highly developed problem solving and decision making skills
