Job Title : Project Manager for Cisco Telephony Project

Location : Toronto, Ontario

Type : 12 month Contract (8 hours a day / 5 days a week)

Starts : August 27, 2012

Overview :

Our client is seeking a talented Project Manager for Cisco Telephony Project to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assigned project(s).

Qualifications required :

  • 8+ years of technical experience architecting and managing network and telephony deployment projects in an Enterprise IT environment.
  • 6+ years of project management experience with network and telephony initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Telecom Analyst
  • 5+ years of mobile application experience
  • Deep understanding of the Project Management Institute methodology and experiences with references where it was applied.
  • Preparation and delivery of project status reports to project sponsors.
  • Manage and maintain MS Project Plans, develop action plans for issues, track risk mitigation plans, make recommendations as necessary to advance project
  • Manage and provide consultative services and specialized expertise in information-technology areas.
  • Maintain logs to track issues, action items, risks, queries and change management for each project.
  • Manage and report on project metrics including progress, earned value metrics, baseline, forecast and actual dates, costs and scope.
  • Prepare project status reports for Project Control Office review and approval.
  • Cooperate with other areas of Information Systems in the application of standards, methodologies, architectures, etc.
  • Review SOW documents with other project team members and insure these align with planned work and budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills and teambuilding. Excellent facilitation skills. Excellent organization skill
  • Problem Solving Skills : The Hydro One PMO will act as the escalation point for any of the projects in the overall portfolio.

The successful candidate will need to arbitrate and present workable solutions to ensure project success.

Versatility of focus / technical savvy : We expect the successful candidate to be able to work with the technical resources at the detailed activities and summarize / explain solutions to senior executives.

Skills / Experience

  • Project management experience architecting & managing network and telephony deployment projects within a telecom and utility environment
  • Exposure / experience with ITIL
  • Exposure / experience with Voice and data communications network builds, Voice Over IP (VOIP) and Unified Communications technologies and delivering UC Services to corporate users
  • Telecom analyst with legacy equipment (TDM / Nortel) record reconciliation and billing auditing
