Position Summary

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee an accounts payable team, direct the processing of invoices and payments, and manage expense accounts and budget reports. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will also supervise a team of 4 people in accounts payable. This position also has the responsibility of supervising a team of 4 people in accounts payable.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees reports regarding cash flow; and ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Develops guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.
  • Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
  • Verifies payments before the controller's signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
  • Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors' ledger).
  • Facilitates correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.
  • Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
  • Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications and experience

  • You have a post-secondary education in administration, accounting or experience deemed equivalent.
  • 5-7 years experience in progressively senior accounting roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
  • Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
  • You have an excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate staff.

    • Sommaire du poste

    Relevant du contrôleur, cette personne supervise l'équipe des comptes fournisseurs, dirige le traitement des factures et des paiements, et gère les comptes de dépenses et les rapports budgétaires. Ce poste a également la responsabilité de superviser une équipe de six (6) personnes dans les comptes fournisseurs.

    Responsabilités

  • Supervise les rapports concernant les flux de trésorerie; s'assure que les paiements exacts sont effectués en temps opportune.
  • Développe des lignes directrices pour le traitement et le codage appropriés des factures afin de tenir à jour le compte de dépenses du grand livre général et les registres d'inventaire.
  • Analyse les rapports de dépenses et autres factures pour s'en établir l'exactitude et l'admissibilité au paiement.
  • Développer des mesures et piloter des initiatives d'améliorations continue.
  • Vérifier les paiements avant d'ajouter la signature du contrôleur en examinant les chèques et les pièces justificatives.
  • Rapprocher le total des comptes créditeurs et le grand livre général avec d'autres registres applicables (p. ex., le grand livre des fournisseurs subsidiaries).
  • Facilite la préparation correcte et en temps opportun des rapports budgétaires et des journaux d'achat.
  • Assure la tenue de registres adéquats des achats destinés à la préparation des déclarations de revenus et aux vérifications périodiques.
  • Assure la tenue, le classement et le stockage appropriés des dossiers en cas d'audits.
  • S'acquitte d'autres tâches connexes qui lui sont assignées.

    • Qualifications et expérience

  • Vous êtes titulaire d'une formation poste secondaire en administration, en comptabilité ou une expérience jugée équivalente.
  • 5-7 ans d'expérience dans des rôles comptables de plus en plus élevés dans un environnement de fabrication.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication verbale et écrite.
  • Maîtrise des logiciels comptables et de la suite Microsoft Office ou des logiciels connexes.
  • Compréhension approfondie des fonctions des comptes créditeurs.
  • Excellentes compétences en supervision et en analyse.
  • Vous avez une excellente maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, autant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit.
  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles et souci du détail.
  • Capacité de motiver le personnel.
