Hours : hours per week

Salary : $ 79,185 - $98,982 per annum : To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy

Shifts : Monday - Friday

Status : Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary

The Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) Research Associate II will be an experienced, ambitious professional with a background in radiation oncology with experience in scientific research.

They will report to the Manager, Program Development & Strategic Partnerships, under the direction of the RMP Director of research to advance adaptive radiation research priorities.

Duties

  • Under the direct supervision of a radiation oncologist, performs real time contouring for patients receiving adaptive radiation treatment with replanning
  • Utilizes expert technical knowledge of relevant imaging and radiation treatment software and systems
  • Work with RMP investigators on all stages of research studies with minimal supervision
  • Project design for collaborative projects and sets research goals and objectives
  • Prepares papers for publications
  • Conducts regular reviews of relevant literature
  • Critically appraises manuscripts and proposals of investigators
  • Provides direct supervision for assigned personnel, as required

Qualifications

  • At minimum, Masters Degree in Health Science or related field. PhD and / or MD preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of radiation oncology, including adaptive radiotherapy, required
  • At minimum, 7 years of related experience in oncology research
  • Advanced research knowledge and skills to perform highly complex procedures involving all phases of research, required
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience in scientific writing for publication
  • Works well with people from different disciplines and with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity in a research setting
