We are in search of a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal for our subsidiary, LendCare Capital Inc. This is a perfect opportunity for an early career candidate to gain hands-on experience in the Small Claims Court process.

We also offer full-time hours, competitive base pay and performance bonus.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare pleadings and drafting of various court documents
  • Conduct and complete legal research as required
  • Perform Skip Tracing
  • Arrange and manage legal settlements and collections
  • Prepare and attend various court appearances
  • Open, maintain, and organize a high quantity of legal files
  • Liaise with other members of the legal department
  • Plan and organize the workflow to ensure all cut-offs and deadlines are met
  • Consistently hit or exceed monthly targets

Requirements :

  • Paralegal Diploma or Certificate
  • Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Accreditation in good standing
  • Knowledge of The Rules of the Small Claims Court and Small Claims Debt Collections
  • Relevant working experience is an asset but not required
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to company systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle for court appearances (mileage reimbursed)
  • Fulltime availability (40 hours / week) and ability to work in our head office in Pickering, ON
