Commercial Paralegal
We’re looking for a Contracts Manager or Paralegal to join EIS’s fast-growing Legal Department. As a member of the EIS Legal team, in this role you’ll partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders and EIS Legal team members to ensure we are enabling the revenue organization by managing our contracting workflows and our templates, playbooks and collateral, and by providing excellent sales
enablement in a rapidly evolving, high-volume environment.
To succeed in this role, you will need to show up as a leader, collaborator, program and project manager, and self-starter able to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.
As a Commercial Paralegal, you’ll support the EIS Legal team in developing and managing the content we create for customers, sellers, other stakeholders, and our internal team in support of the revenue organization.
You will also partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, IT,
Security, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, to provide technology thought leadership, process improvement, and metrics support to enable our support of sales and accelerate deal velocity.
Your passion for technology and deep knowledge of legal contracts, processes, and commercial legal teams allows you to provide practical and solutions-oriented advice to your legal and business partners, effectively calculate potential risks, manage workloads, and prioritize multiple business partner demands.
This position will report to our VP Assistant General Counsel, Commercial. This role can be remote or based in one of EIS’s U.

Key Responsibilities
- Own EIS templates and playbooks;
- Draft NDAs, review initial drafts of various agreements;
- Assist with the development and improvement of customer collateral, sales enablement
- training, tools, and FAQs;
- Maintain and assist in the development of sales and purchasing legal documents;
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and other business partners to ensure EIS Legal requirements are
continuously met with the Zendesk Contracts Management System ( Zendesk ) and act as the
- functional subject matter expert for the Zendesk tool;
- Manage the contracting workflow, including ticketing, self-service contracting, redlining,
- approvals, signature, and archiving for all EIS contracts;
- Partner with IT and Legal Operations to develop EIS metrics, reports, and dashboards for cross-
functional visibility into key contract terms and transactional data in order to derive insights that
- improve operational efficiency and inform EIS’s internal customers;
- Identify, develop, drive, and implement process improvements to create scale and efficiencies,
- organizing cross-functional stakeholder participation as needed;
- Project manage EIS Legal team initiatives and OKRs;
- Assist with EIS Legal team new hire, onboarding, budget, and headcount planning; and
- Keep abreast of industry trends affecting EIS Legal and collect relevant benchmarking data to
inform contract positions and best practices.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 3+ years of relevant experience in an in-house legal department (gained ideally at a SaaS or other high growth technology company);
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required;
- High EQ, impeccable professional ethics, integrity, judgment, and demonstrated ability to handle
- highly confidential information;
- Track record and passion for building and continually improving processes optimized to be collaborative and enable scale;
- Experience and skill in project management, knowledge management, managing site content, templates, and playbooks, and preparing training materials;
- Demonstrated experience managing Zendesk workflows and associated metrics and reporting;
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, efficient, and resourceful with exceptional follow-
- through skills;
- Ability to simultaneously manage workloads, multiple business partner demands, and shifting priorities within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment;
- Able to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive can do attitude
to the workplace working collaboratively with other members of the LRC Department and with
- internal business partners;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively counsel internal business partners by providing clear and concise advice and creative solutions to meet business needs; and
- Proficiency in Google applications (including Google Slides, Drive, Docs, and Sheets), Slack, Salesforce, Jira, DropBox Sign, and Zendesk is a strong plus.
Additional Information
Base Pay Range 65,000-80,000 (CAD). EIS is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role.
Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
