Electrical Project Department Manager
Our client is looking for an Electrical Project Department Manager to join their team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will hold the responsibility of ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability within their assigned department through the provision and execution of effective processes and strategies.
This role will also have a seat on the senior leadership team, collaborating with other leaders to contribute to the development and successful execution of the organization's vision and 10-year strategic plan.
Your success will be defined by your ability to :
- Successfully plan and execute projects and the department within budget.
- Effectively manage project budgets to maximize profitability.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are maintained on all projects.
- Foster a high-performing project team through effective leadership and continuous development.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Efficiently manage staffing levels and labor allocation to optimize project performance and resource utilization.
- Demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire, and coach team members.
- Implement actions to deliver best-in-class client satisfaction.
- Lead the development and execution of the department's safety strategy.
- Achieve and maintain accountability for the department's P&L.
- Manage operating expenses by optimizing processes, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Contribute effectively to Quarterly All-Team Meetings.
- Contribute to the development and successful execution of the organization's vision and 10-year strategic plan.
Your strengths include :
- Minimum 3-5 years in a similar role.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager with an Electrical background in the construction industry.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and / or several years of progressively responsible experience in project management.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team.
- PMP Certification is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse audiences, including staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools for project management.
