A well-established civil engineering consulting firm based in BC is currently seeking a Civil Design Technologist to join their growing team in Surrey .
The firm specializes in municipal and land development design, providing services to both public and private sector clients across Western Canada.

Job Description :
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for design and drafting, with an emphasis on land development and municipal capital works projects throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside project engineers, assist with field reviews, and further develop their career in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities :
- Research, obtain, and analyze existing infrastructure information
- Prepare infrastructure base plans and civil engineering design drawings using ACAD Civil 3D
- Assist in design, analysis, and calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Research specifications and standards, ensuring adherence to design requirements
- Collaborate with clients, municipalities, contractors, and stakeholders
- Coordinate with third-party utilities (e.g., BC Hydro, Telus, FortisBC)
- Conduct field reviews for design implementation and specification conformance
- Prepare detailed field review reports and conduct field investigations
- Monitor environmental controls, including erosion and sediment control
- Maintain and calibrate required field equipment
Skills & Qualifications :
- 2-5 years of experience as a Civil Engineering Technologist, focusing on land development and municipal engineering
- Proficiency with ACAD Civil 3D for drafting engineering drawings
- Experience with field reviews and ensuring adherence to design specifications
- Familiarity with Master Municipal Construction Documents (MMCD)
- Experience in sewer, watermain, roads, grading design, and stormwater management
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Valid BC Driver's License
