Job Title : Production Supervisor - Afternoons

Job Description

We are looking to add a Production Supervisor to our afternoon shift. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the print industry and be familiar with die cutters and gluing / folding machines.

Supervisor experience is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate diverse workforce towards continuous improvement in production, quality, and safety goals.
  • Ensure a high level of operator performance, meeting KPIs as set by General Manager.
  • Initiate and attend meetings to ensure continuous improvement in processes and work habits.
  • Proactively maintain safety rules, conduct safety meetings, provide employee safety education, and improve safety awareness throughout the organization.
  • Minimize scrap and maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist with production problems, including troubleshooting machine issues during operation.
  • Document and report daily departmental performance metrics, including Direct Labour Hours, On-Time Delivery, Training Hours Conducted, Errors Per Employee, and Employee Attendance.
  • Set machine maintenance schedules and ensure execution.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Train new employees.
  • Coordinate and encourage employee involvement in team-building skills, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Delegate work assignments based on the production schedule and customer requirements, ensuring that employees are at maximum productivity.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with die cutters.
  • Troubleshooting experience on a die cutter machine.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in production management.
  • Machine operation and maintenance skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Supervisor / team lead experience is a plus.
  • Folding / gluing operating and troubleshooting experience.
  • Computer skills.
  • Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and understand production scheduling systems.
  • Experience in proposing and driving change initiatives / improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of HACCP / GMP / JHSC.
  • Solid oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, and effective judgment in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility and receptiveness to sudden and frequent changes in priorities.
  • Hands-on work ethic with creative problem-solving skills; disciplined, consistent, and hard worker.

Work Environment

You will be working in a clean environment, which can be a little loud when all machines are running, but it is well-lit.

Parking is available on site. The afternoon shift runs from 3 PM to 11 PM, with opportunities for overtime.
