The main focus of the Store General Manager role is to drive sales, profitability and customer service in our retail stores through developing and driving a selling culture, fostering company values and culture and growing the sales and profit through gaining a solid understanding of the local market and broadening community involvement.

Description of Job Responsibilities
1. SalesandService :
- Facilitatesconsistent,exceptionalCustomerexperiencesthroughtheeffectiveexecutionoftheMODrole.
- Coachesthestoreteamonthelink betweenservicebehaviorsandbusinessresultstosupportourserviceandsellingmodel.
- Ensureseffectivecommunicationofdirection,andeducationtotheteam.
- Maintainsoptimalstaffingandschedulingwhilebeingresponsivetochangesintrafficandbusinesstrends.
- Providesleadershipandcommunicatestoassociates serviceandsellingmodel.
- Respondstocustomerfeedback.Maintains KPIstandards.
2. Associate and Team Development :
- Recruits,selects,trains,developandretainhighperformingandproductivemanagersandsales associates.
- Communicates goals and provides leadership which inspires total associate commitment tocompany objectives and values through effective performance based coaching, motivatingrecognitionandtimely,constructivefeedback.
- Providesdevelopmentopportunitiesforassociatesthatsupportcompanygrowth.
- Writesandconductsannualperformanceevaluationforassociates.
- DevelopsassociateschedulesandsubmitsallnecessaryHR / PayrollrequiredpaperworktoHR.
- Coordinatesallcandidateandnewhireprocess(paperwork,offers,etc).
- Communicates and ensure compliance to Company Policies and Procedures. Communicatesinformation provided in the various Company communication materials (Footnotes, memos, e-mails,etc)
3. Merchandising :
- Ensuresstoreappearanceandvisualstandards / presentationthatareconsistent withthecompany’sbrandimageandstandards.
- RespondstobusinesstrendsbycommunicatinginformationtotheRegionalDirectorasneeded.Ensures storeis compliantwith establishedstandards.
4. Leadership :
- Assistantinrecruitment,interviewandfinalselectionofalldepartmentassociates.
- Assistintrainingassociatesonsales,customerservice,operations,merchandising,productknowledge andmonitorprogress.
- Participateinannualperformanceevaluationsfordepartmentassociates;makepromotionalandmeritincreaserecommendations basedonperformance.
- Executedisciplinaryproceduresfairlyanddocumentcorrectiveactionproperly.
- Createnewhire’strainingscheduleandfollowtheTrainingChecklistwithallnewhiresindepartment.
5. Operations :
- Managesresourcestomaximizefinancialgoals.
- Fostersknowledgeandintegritywithregardtocompliancewithcompanypolicyin allpractices.
- Effectivelyusesresourcesandbusinesspartnerstoresolveissues withasenseofpassion.
- Recognizeswhentochangestrategicdirectiontoattainandsustainmaximumresults.

- Overseesdailystorecleaning,recovery,maintenanceandinventory.
- UsesmonthlyOps Assessmenttoidentifyand correctoperationaldeficienciesinthestore.
- EnsurestrainingisconductedregardingLPandSafetystandards.
- Protection of Company Assets
- Ensureactualinventoryon hand matchesRetailProon-handsthroughregularlyscheduledcyclecounts andresolvingnegativeonhandsquantities.
Ensure bagchecksareconductsonallstaff whenleavingthestore.
- Ensureproperreceivingstandardsare followed.
- Confirmrefundsarecheckeddailyandverified.
- Storesecuritysystemisupdatedandconductsmonthlyalarmsensortesting.
- Followproperclosingproceduresandlock down.
- Work withLossPreventiontosharepossibletheft / shrinkissueswiththestoresviaintranet.

Skills, Education & Competencies
- Minimumofcollegeoruniversitydegreeorequivalentwork experience;
- 5-7yearsofmanagementexperience withstrongemphasisonbigboxretailmanagement;
- Knowledgeofandexperienceinacomputerizedenvironment,includingtheoperationandadministrationof a Point of Sale(POS)andinventorymanagementcomputersystems;
- Strongfinancialmanagementskillsincludingtheabilitytoreviewandanalyzefinancialstatements;
- Excellentleadershipandmanagementskillsincludingtheabilitytorecruit,hire,train,motivate,evaluate, discipline,anddevelopstaff;
- Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills;
- Proven abilitytomotivate others;

WorkHours :
