About the role As a Capital Markets Manager, you will work as a strategic partner within the Treasury team and interact directly with banking, lenders, investors and capital markets counterparties and key functional leaders within Wealthsimple to support Treasury initiatives and broader product launches.

As a trusted advisor, you will provide advice and collaborate with leaders in product, operations, trading, finance, legal, regulatory & compliance to find creative solutions to complex problems.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Manage bank and trading counterparties partnerships as well as agreement negotiations and credit reviews to support both Treasury initiatives and new product launches.
  • Foster and deepen trading counterparties and bank partner relationships and identify new partnership opportunities.
  • Coordinate trading counterparties onboarding with close collaboration with securities lending desk, operations, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Identify and manage Wealthsimple’s corporate foreign currency exposure.
  • Support interest rate risk, foreign exchange and price risk management; and exposure modeling.
  • Propose risk mitigation strategies and provide ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Be responsible for the counterparty credit risk management and collaborate with key stakeholders to execute on the framework;

seek ongoing enhancement opportunities based on industry best practice.

  • Lead presentations on key treasury activities and risk metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build best-in-class capital markets capabilities to enable product offering that delight Wealtsimple’s clients.

We’re looking for someone who :

  • Is bringing 4-6 years of Treasury and Capital Markets experience with direct external counterparties negotiation and engagement.
  • Has a passion for technology, specifically fintech.
  • Has a successful track record on leading securities lending agreement negotiation and credit review process.
  • Brings knowledge of capital markets funding and financing transactions such as corporate and broker-dealer various types of credit facilities.
  • Has prior experience in reviewing and negotiating ISDA, lending agreements, and credit facilities.
  • Has strong understanding of Treasury investment portfolio management, foreign currency risk management and counterparty credit risk assessment.
  • Brings excellent interpersonal skills to manage external bank and trading counterparties relationships.
  • Is highly effective at working in close collaboration with various internal business partners.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts effectively to non-Treasury audiences.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail.
