HR Business Partner & Continuous Improvement Location : Edmonton (On-Site)
AutoCanada is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner responsible for providing people management support, advice, and consultation in collaboration with leaders and Team Members, as well as improving policies and HR processes.
This position offers HR expertise to our Corporate Office teams, including all levels of leadership, management, and Team Members, covering topics such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, employee relations, coaching, workforce planning, and performance management.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for updating and creating policies, and documenting the processes behind policies for Team Members, management, and People & Culture.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior regional leaders, people managers, and employees to provide consultative HR advice that supports the strategic growth of the business.
- Provide timely information and education on HR issues to all levels of the region.
- Understand business needs and collaborate with the People & Culture team to develop solutions.
- Manage and facilitate regional office new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Provide HR expertise in areas such as feedback, employee relations, training and development, employee coaching, and compensation.
- Act as a change agent and culture champion while supporting and representing the organization.
- Assist senior leaders and people managers in developing departmental employee engagement action plans that foster employee satisfaction.
- Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals.
- Champion a culture of excellence where people feel engaged and inspired to deliver top business results.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture (P&C) team on projects and ensure the successful completion of quarterly and annual objectives.
- Work closely with the P&C team to document policies and procedures for HR, management, and team member handbooks.
- Develop and communicate metrics to identify growth opportunities for the department and organization.
- Lead employee conduct investigations in consultation with the P&C Compliance Manager and / or team members.
- Educate team members on compensation practices, including performance feedback, performance calibration, and career transitions.
- Conduct regional and senior leadership exit interviews, providing analysis and recommendations to senior leadership for change activities.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management, organizational development, or equivalent work experience.
- Automotive / Dealership and / or Retail experience is an asset.
- 3-5 years of work experience in Human Resources.
- Certified HR designation or working towards it is considered an asset.
- Work experience or education in employment law or other regulatory areas is an asset.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, able to work comfortably and provide counsel to all levels of leaders and employees.
- Ability to collaborate and work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
- Adaptable to a consistently changing environment.
- Ability and experience to make well-informed decisions based on a broad human resource knowledge base.
- Strong proficiency in using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience and ability to work with HRIS & ATS software (e.g., Workday, ADP) are considered an asset.
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality and discretion.
- Availability to travel up to 50% of the time.
