We are looking for a Senior Consultant to play a leading role on high-stakes corporate communication projects for some of Canada’s leading brands.
As part of the H&K Toronto team, you will work with passionate, engaged colleagues from across the country to lead communications campaigns that deliver results for our clients.
The ideal candidate will be a strong project manager, with proven strategic communications skills and experience delivering successful earned media campaigns for diverse clients.
You’d stand apart from other candidates if you also have expertise in paid media and B2B marketing communications.
Here’s what you’d be doing
- Manage projects for several clients, delivering high quality work on time and on budget
- Serve as a strategic client counselor, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of their business and the Canadian media landscape
- Serve as a mentor and coach for junior team members to help build and foster a positive and dynamic culture and delegate successfully to execute client initiatives
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver integrated communication campaigns
- Anticipate client needs and issues, troubleshoot problems as an active listener and fearless counselor
- Demonstrate and encourage creativity and innovation, both from a client service and team culture standpoint
- Have a positive and team-oriented attitude, and a genuine interest in continuing to learn and build a passionate, motivated and engaged team
- Manage account financials and contribute to driving growth and account profitability
- Effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others using your strong communication and presentation skills

What you’ll need to get here
- A minimum of 6 years of experience with a focus on corporate communications. B2B marketing communications and agency experience are both assets
- An excellent track record providing strategic counsel to clients and leading the development of integrated communications strategies
- An understanding of the Canadian media, and what makes for an effective story and pitch
- An ability to work independently and a proactive approach to driving work forward
- A desire to be in the heart of the action, managing various streams of work with a high level of organization and agility
- An affinity for mentoring staff and leading local and national teams towards a common objective
- An entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to identify new business opportunities
- While a specific interest in financial services and / or energy would be valuable, curiosity about working across a range of sectors and subject matter is essential
- Experience managing integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and shared media channels
