At the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, we're looking for someone to help us manage the changes we're driving to evolve our organization.
We're updating and adapting the way we do business with a renewed focus on meeting the needs of lottery players and stakeholders in our region - and we want to make sure our teams and partners have what they need to make the process as free of churn and friction as possible.
We're seeking a thoughtful, collaborative, and proactive Change Management Specialist to be part of our Internal Communications and Change Team.
You'll work closely with delivery teams, coach project team members, support the delivery of change and engagement plans, and help design sustainment activities that support change adoption even after a project has wrapped up.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :
In this role, you'll be asked to...
- Work closely with cross-functional project / program teams to ensure the initial analysis to support a change is complete - including assigning change leadership roles, identifying stakeholders, completing impact assessments, etc.
- Collaborate with the project / program team and affected business areas to gain an understanding of business processes and the related change impacts.
- Help project / program teams document and articulate a change management strategy.
- Design and execute communications and engagement plans to support affected teams and stakeholders during a change.
- Support learning and training by providing input to the project / program team as they document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs as appropriate.
- Identify and address sources of resistance to change, working closely with stakeholders to avoid or resolve issues and concerns.
- Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders across WCLC to ensure change management, communication, and training activities are being completed in support of project / program goals.
- Act as a mentor and subject matter expert to sponsors, people leaders, project team members, and employees to support leader-led change.
- Monitor, identify, and celebrate successes related to the change throughout all phases of a project or program.
- Monitor, identify, and address change-related risks and issues as they arise during the course of a project or program.
- Ensure business leadership are prepared to handle change sustainment once the project or program is complete.
Qualifications :
For this role, we're looking for someone with...
- Three to five years of demonstrated experience leading and implementing successful project change management support and OCM / OD initiatives.
- The flexibility and creativity to deploy and adapt our change management framework - and other industry best practices - to develop customized change management approaches that fit the needs of affected stakeholders.
- The proven ability to act as a consensus-maker and drive action even when having no formal authority to require change.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver communications and presentations at multiple levels. (e,g. Executive Team, Board Members, Management, and Front Line Employees).
- A strong understanding of adult learning principles and experience in developing and managing training programs.
- While not mandatory, the following would definitely be an asset when applying for this role...
- A background in Business Analysis.
- Experience working in gaming or similarly regulated industries.
- Experience working in - or closely with - government organizations.
- Knowledge of change certifications and frameworks (Kotter, Bridges, Prosci, ACMP, APMG).
- Change Management certification.
- A diploma or degree in Communications, Organization Development, Business Analysis, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
