Our client is partnering with Adecco and are seeking to hire full-time highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager with a background in Mechanical Engineering to oversee their manufacturing facility in Markham, ON.

In this role you will be assisting the plant manager in overseeing daily operations of the plant and allocating work to meet delivery schedules.

Working with the engineering department, the Plant Manager / Engineer will also be responsible for resolving any mechanical and electromechanical issues and product improvements.

Responsibilities :

Resolving mechanical and electromechanical issues and product improvements

Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing process, and productivity improvements projects

Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize operator utilization and product flow

Perform capital equipment justification

Develop and maintain process work instructions and product routings

Provide technical direction to the CNC programming department

Equipment maintenance, and Environmental, Health, and Safety projects as assigned

Ensure all personnel comply with training requirements, work standards, policies, and procedures.

Schedule and allocate work and monitor performance to meet customer delivery schedule

Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.

Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.

Develop team and individual employee skills and performance through the effective use of on-going coaching and cross training

Model, foster and drive values including Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Vision, Stretch, Boundaryless and Speed.

Perform other tasks as may be assigned

Qualifications :

Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada

Post-secondary education in mechanical engineering

3 to 5 years of experience in a related engineering position.

Knowledge of cutting, machining, and other metal fabrication processes

An excellent attitude, superior drive and ambition are a must

A team player, with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record as a leader possessing the ability to communicate effectively with and influence individuals

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Auto-Cad, and Solid Works.

Must be flexible and able to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
