About the role
We’re looking for a Financial Analyst II to join our Group FP&A team!
As a Financial Analyst II, Group FP&A , reporting to the Manager Group FP&A, your work will influence how we evaluate the financial performance of our global operations.
People will count on you to prepare the weekly group forecast, contribute to the annual planning process and to prepare various analyses which will be used by senior management in their decision-making.
What you’ll do here :
- Prepare the weekly group forecast, participate in the annual budget process, and perform ad-hoc analyses to support senior management’s decision-making.
- Liaise with various stakeholders within the organization (e.g. Accounting, Underwriting, Expenses, Investments, etc.) to gather their updates.
- Analyse, explain results and provide insights in a concise manner.
- Understand key data sources, dynamically upkeep, and increase control effectiveness of reports to ensure accuracy and provide comparative view of various financial / operational Key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management use.
- Assist in the monthly forecast discussion preparation (variances analysis, key messages, impact on KPIs).
- Support team members in the execution of special projects and in their day-to-day responsibilities.
What you bring to the table :
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, actuarial or any other analytical training.
- Three to five years of finance, accounting, or actuarial experience.
- Working towards a professional designation (an asset if already completed).
- Insurance industry experience, an asset.
- Modelling skills, an asset.
- Strong planning / organization skills and attention / focus on details.
- Strong analytical skills and financial aptitude.
- Highly proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to interact and communicate clearly with a variety of people at all levels of the organization and across different countries (Canada, US & UK).
- Willingness to learn, agile and proven ability to thrive in a fast paced / changing environment.
- Bilingualism (French-English), spoken and written.
