Opportunity Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis plays a major role in assisting upper management in developing and determining strategies through modelling, variable alternations and assisting in their execution.
In addition, the areas of costing and business monitoring will be key initiatives. The Director will work as a strategic business partner to support management in providing interpretation and translation of business data.
In driving growth and ensuring compliance with established financial reporting guidelines and accounting policies, including but not limited to analytics, budgeting, forecasting, expense and capital management.
The position requires a person with proven analytical and multi-tasking skills who can communicate across the organization, working closely with Business Leaders, FP&A teams, and Controllership groups.
This new Director of FP&A role will be working closely with the executive team of the company and other senior management challenging and contributing to the future development of the business by providing creative interpretations and solution approaches and be a true Finance Business Partner.
Main responsibilities SUPPORT MANAGEMENT IN BUSINESS INITIATIVES (50%)
Developing the future of the group of companies by establishing scenario models, supplying interpretations of the past to design measures for the future.
o Pricing and operational differences of different Lines of Business.
o Determination and elaboration of actionable and impactful measures.
o Collaboration with higher management to determine assumptions for the budgeting process.
Collaboration for the interpretation of Revenue streams, expenses, within the budgeting and forecasting processes. Supporting the Vice president Corporate Finance with the annual and quarterly forecasts.
Together with the Vice president, Corporate Finance manage the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly rolling forecasts with finance, department leads, regional leaders and executives.
- Review in collaboration with the Vice president, corporate finance monthly variance analysis prepared by the controllers for each company, region and consolidated level.
- Provide guidance to improve the storytelling of the analysis.
- Analyzing and advising of efficiency and cost optimization potential throughout the entire group of companies.
- Act as a strategic business partner to senior management offering financial guidance and insights to drive informed decision-making.
Understands the timely factor in analysis and is able to trade accuracy vs speed (good enough for decision-making)
- Develop and deliver high-quality presentations showcasing financial insights and recommendations.
- Cultivate strategic business partnerships with functional and departmental leaders, effectively communicating financial and operational impacts in language relevant to business leaders.
- Identify business risks and opportunities as well as reports on performance indicators frequent interaction with finance business partners to develop a clear understanding of business issues.
REVENUES & COSTING (25%)
- Review, design and build dashboards in Workday and scenario modelling to support business growth and client acquisition.
- Track backlog and pipeline, providing insights into future business opportunities and risks.
- Recommend, develop, and implement policies and processes guiding the organization to maintain and enhance its competitive position and profitability.
- Analyzing costing structure and profitability in several dimensions contributing to future pricing and for customer contracts.
DEVELOP AND LEAD THE TEAM (20%)
- Further development of the multidisciplinary and complementary FP&A team and Coordinate workload of the team members
- Set clear objectives and provide regular feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
AD HOC REQUESTS (5%)
- Assist with key automation projects such as the implementation of an accounting software system (Workday and Workday Adaptive), integration of the financial system with other critical systems (Operational ERP), and the utilization of a centralized data management solution (Snowflakes).
- Continuously improve reports, processes and tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the FP&A function.
- Supporting Senior Management with analysis of capital expenditures / major investments and M&A projects.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of previous leadership experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial planning software
