In August, 2017, the creation of a new department, Indigenous Services Canada was announced. Since that time, the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch has transitioned from Health Canada to the new department.

This is a continuous intake to create and maintain an inventory, as well as, to establish partially assessed pools for current and future opportunities at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC).

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

or (b) an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in the delivery of social or health benefit programs.

Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders or clients.

Experience providing recommendations to management on policy, program or client-service related issues.

Various language requirements

English Essential, French Essential, Bilingual imperative.

EDUCATION

A diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience.

Bachelor’s degree or higher studies from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position.

Have completed training or courses related to working with First Nations or health programs and services.

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program.

Experience working with the Jordan’s Principle Child First Initiative.

Experience working in a call centre environment.

Front line customer service experience in a high volume call centre environment.

Experience in human resource management (ex. supervision, workload assignment, setting work objectives, learning plans, performance management plans)

Experience working with Aboriginal people or organization.

Experience working collaboratively and building relationships with a variety of Aboriginal stakeholders. (*Please note that experience may have been gained in a variety of settings, such as participation in a community initiative, project team, volunteer environment, committee, school, etc.)

Experience leading a work group. (*Please note that experience leading a work group may be gained through showing leadership in a variety of settings, including but not limited to : participation in a project team, a volunteer-work setting, a committee, or school / university group assignments)

Experience in working with word processing, spreadsheets and data base software to prepare various documents.

Experience monitoring and tracking project activities.

Experience preparing written documents such as proposals, briefing notes or business plans.

Experience in financial management (managing program funding, expenditures, audits, program allocations or forecasts, etc.

which could include tracking contracts, grants, contribution agreements or funding agreements.

Experience with community and / or capacity development practices.
