Interim Global Compensation Specialist (remote - Canada or US)

  • Duration : 6 months (could convert to perm)
  • Hourly Rate : 70 CAD$ or $50 USD

We are working with a client who is seeking a Compensation Specialist to develop and implement salary structures across various global markets.

You will be an expert in Excel and Google-based spreadsheets, work closely with internal teams, analyze job profiles, and use tools such as Mercer to establish the competitive compensation structures globally.

This is a hands-on role for an organization that is undergoing a lot of change, as such this role will suit someone who is agile and can roll up their sleeves and deliver results.

Key responsibilities :

  • Design and implement global salary structures, working across 10 countries simultaneously
  • Conduct advanced analysis using Excel and Google-based database management systems
  • Analyze compensation data, including RSUs, stock options, and long-term performance vehicles
  • Provide compensation insights and advice to senior leadership based on data-driven analyses, including regular monthly financial reporting as well as industry benchmarking and survey data, to ensure the firm is aligning compensation practice with its performance-based culture
  • Apply geographical differences and local market trends to salary structures
  • Utilize multiple survey sources for data comparison and analysis
  • Collaborate with team members globally to support compensation projects
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements of employee compensation and benefit programs globally, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and outside vendors

Key requirements :

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing salary structures across multiple global regions
  • Mastery of Excel and Google-based databases, with strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with various compensation survey sources including Mercer
  • Experience in equity compensation is a plus (RSUs, stock options, etc.)
