POSITION SUMMARY :

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks within the Finance Team and the successful candidate will become a key role to the Operations group.

SALARY RANGE :

$65,000 - $85,000

POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Accurate and timely execution of weekly production balancing
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting and analysis of variances to budget with a strong focus on time management and meeting corporate deadlines
• Monthly Forecasts with comparison to budget
• Responsible for assisting plant management in preparing and analyzing the overhead budget
• Accountable for all specific plant accounting, including posting of plant related journal entries
• Will conduct ad hoc analysis as required
• Responsible for effectively and efficiently dealing with ad hoc issues that may arise
• Other duties as assigned and required

EDUCATION AND OR WORK REQUIREMENTS :

• Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Enrollment in the CPA program is considered an asset
• High sense of urgency, well organized, ability to manage multiple tasks and able to prioritize effectively
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to effectively use transactional databases and finance software
• Oracle and / or Hyperion experience is considered an asset
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Limited travel required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Walking, sitting for prolonged periods of time.
• Lift up to 20 lbs. Position includes utilization of computer systems in the office
