Canadian Blood Services is an essential part of the country’s network of healthcare systems. Together, with donors, recipients, employees, partners and volunteers, Canadian Blood Services is Canada’s Lifeline , providing lifesaving products and services in transfusion and transplantation for Canadian patients, and safeguarding Canada's systems of life essentials in blood, plasma, stem cells, and organs and tissues.
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is seeking an experienced leader to be its next Director, Enterprise Facility Strategy and Transformation (Director).
In this critical role, the Director will provide dedicated support to strategic facilities activities, develop standards and policies, and drive increased efficiency and effectiveness in the broader facilities portfolio.
More specifically, the Director will oversee the capital planning, construction, real estate and leasing departments, ensuring the provision of high-quality support for strategic activities across the facilities group and the organization.
The Director will cultivate and sustain essential relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, delivering insights into the value of the facilities management portfolio while aligning with the organization’s evolving business needs.
Leveraging strong business acumen, the Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and consultants to champion and implement the department’s strategic objectives, optimizing value and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Finally, the Director will contribute to broader CBS goals by analysing, reviewing and, challenging business cases from a facilities perspective.
As an ideal candidate you bring post-secondary level education in Engineering, Architecture, or another relevant discipline and possess a minimum of 10 years of progressive managerial experience in facilities and business management in complex multi-site environments.
You will also possess experience in a regulated industry or similarly complex sector. Your functional skills are complimented by your highly strategic and forward-thinking approach, your abilities to lead change and transformation in highly complex environments, and your proven customer and stakeholder management skills.
Furthermore, your ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders and external consultants allows you to be successful in a highly collaborative and collegial manner that reflects CBS’ values.
Finally, your leadership skills allow you to inspire, motivate, and manage staff nationally, while fostering a results-oriented culture that is focused on achieving project goals and targets.
