Position Summary :
Reporting to the Director, the Cyber Security Architect will lead thedevelopment and oversight of the college's Cyber Security architectureframework, aiming to enhance the institution's Cyber Security maturity.
Thisrole seeks a strategic thinker with advanced expertise in cybersecurity,architecture standards, principles, and practices, especially as it applies tocloud solutions.
The successful candidate will design and maintain securesystems and architectures to protect the college's critical data and assetsagainst evolving cyber threats.
Key responsibilities :
Designing and Implementing Cyber Security Architectures
Develop and maintain robust Cyber Security architectures and solutions that protect the college's information systems, focusing on alignment with stakeholder security needs and compliance with enterprise security architecture frameworks.
Conducting Security Architecture Reviews and Assessments
Perform comprehensive reviews and assessments for new and existing projects, identifying vulnerabilities, recommending mitigation strategies, and ensuring Cyber Security requirements for cloud and on-prem technologies are met.
Creating and Managing the Architecture Review Board (ARB)
Establish and oversee the ARB, ensuring it serves as a pivotal forum for evaluating, guiding, and validating IT architecture decisions in alignment with strategic goals and Cyber Security best practices.
Risk Management
Continuously monitor and update the college’s security architecture to ensure its effectiveness against emerging threats and alignment with the latest Cyber Security standards.
Regular Review and Update of Security Architecture
Keep abreast of the latest developments in Cyber Security, including emerging threats, trends, and best practices. Utilize this knowledge to inform project strategies and decisions.
Share insights and updates with the team and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptation.
Performing Security Reviews and Developing Risk Management Plans
Conduct security reviews to identify gaps in the security architecture, develop security risk management plans in alignment with the college’s business objectives and risk appetite.

Educationaland Experience Requirements :
- Four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Cyber Security, Information Technology (IT), Enterprise Information Security Architecture is required.
- One or more certifications in ISSAP, TOGAF, SABSA, CCSK, CCSP, DoDAF, FEAF, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, and / or Microsoft Cyber Security Architect are required.
- Background in IT, Cyber Security, or specialized IT / Cyber Security architecture degrees.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in enterprise architecture (IT or Cyber Security / Information Security) including a minimum of 3 years dedicated to Cyber Security.
- Experienced progression through IT and Cyber Security roles such as Network / Security Administrator, Cyber Security Analyst / Engineer, Network / System Administrator, or IT / Cyber Security Architect.
Skills and Attributes :
- A deep understanding of IT infrastructure and Cyber Security solutions and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and knowledge of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and incident response.
- Ability to manage numerous complex and demanding tasks and to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, assign tasks, and set priorities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, coordinating, and project management skills; solid attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated communication, collaboration, teamwork, and people skills at a professional level.
- Ability to travel between campuses and to industry or educational conferences.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.
