Position Description

The Director of Business Development is a key player in selling contract logistics (warehousing) solutions. The individual possess a keen eye for fresh opportunities and crafting compelling value propositions tailored to client needs.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have an established network in the fast-moving consumer goods vertical, is great at convincing others and building strong relationships, excels at presentations, and possesses superior negotiation skills.

Note : there is required travel up to 20% of the time to client locations and attend regional and / or global meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cultivating Trusted Advisor Relationships :

Forge enduring connections with internal and external stakeholders, positioning oneself as a trusted advisor. This involves understanding their needs, concerns, and objectives to provide tailored solutions.

Personalized Sales Strategy :

Craft a sales strategy aligned with the overarching corporate objectives, ensuring that individual efforts contribute to the collective success of the organization.

Accurate Revenue and Profitability Forecasts :

Deliver precise and timely forecasts regarding revenue and profitability, facilitating informed decision-making at all levels of the company.

Proactive Trend Identification :

Stay ahead of industry and economic trends, analyzing their potential impact on the company’s business landscape and adapting strategies accordingly.

Transparent Communication :

Effectively communicate sales plans and progress to management, fostering transparency and alignment across the organization.

Supporting Sales Excellence :

Provide support to cultivate a world-class sales team within designated budgets, continually striving to enhance personal Return on Investment (ROI).

Industry Awareness :

Remain abreast of regional and industry developments, leveraging insights to enhance decision-making processes and seize opportunities for growth.

Active Participation :

Engage proactively in company processes, contributing valuable insights and perspectives to drive innovation and efficiency.

Utilization of Sales Automation Technology :

Leverage sales force automation tools efficiently to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and optimize outcomes.

Timely Reporting :

Submit comprehensive and punctual reports, ensuring that all necessary data is provided accurately and on time.

Commitment to Corporate Governance :

Adhere strictly to the company’s corporate governance standards, promoting ethical conduct and accountability across all endeavors.

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience with demonstrated success in the contract logistics business
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of financial / accounting / budgetary terms and processes
  • 5 years of operational experience in supply chain / logistics industry

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in building relationships and trust with clients
  • Should be well-versed in supply chain management
  • Should be both sales and operationally inclined can sell as well as deliver
  • Should be familiar with solution selling concepts and methodologies
  • Strong consultative selling skills listening, attention to details, ability to probe and offer insight
  • Self-motivated with a competitive drive
  • Strong organization, communication and decision-making skills
  • The ability to quickly establish trust and build long-term executive level relationships with clients is critical to this position
  • The ability to establish partnerships by selling at a higher level and avoid transactional business models
  • Should be familiar with the local business etiquette and customs of the region.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, Internet Explorer
  • Should be comfortable working with Sales Force Automation and Knowledge Management tools.

Education

A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a similar discipline.
