As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced Logistics Specialist to join our successful Toronto team immediately.
We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of domestic and overseas transportation to facilitate the supply chain operations of our company.
The logistics aspect of this role includes the coordination and process to achieve the effective distribution of goods and services with a focus on a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency and compliance.
This role is global and will require similar efforts in support of multiple locations.
The new hire will report to the Global Logistics & Compliance Manager Onsite work 4 days per week.
What you will be doing :
- Review vendor compliance information for completeness and accuracy
- Update and maintain the inbound air & ocean tracking database
- Monitor inbound transportation (air, ocean & OTR) to provide updates to key stakeholders
- Maintenance of rates in the TMS portal
- Creation and maintenance of vendor transportation routing guides
- Review import customs documents for the accuracy of tariff classification, valuation, origin, tariff treatment and file amendments / refunds as needed
- Work with customs brokers & carriers to resolve day-to-day operational issues
- Monitor activities with all 3PL locations for adherence to import / export processes
- Prepare and submit duty drawback claims
- Support costing & NPI teams with logistics and customs total landed cost
- Review supplier freight invoices for adherence to established guidelines
- Maintain ongoing awareness of global events that could impact our supply chain
- Other responsibilities in support of the logistics & compliance team as required
- Perform additional duties as per the supervisor's direction
What you bring along :
- A degree or a Diploma designation in a related field (CLTD, CCLP, PFF, CSCP)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS)
- Minimum 8 years experience in a progressive logistics and customs compliance role including transportation regulations pertaining to all transportation modes and vendor countries
- Excellent communications skills with an understanding of both internal and external customer / vendor needs
- Ability to respond appropriately in high-pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour
- Highly organized and able to undertake and prioritize a multitude of tasks in a demanding environment
- Highly analytical and meticulous
- Strong attention to detail, highly efficient and effective time management skills
- Written and verbal fluency in English
