Supply Chain Portfolio Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Portfolio Manager to join our client's team in Ottawa, Ontario. This role reports to the Senior Director of Global Procurement and Supply Chain Management and is crucial in managing complex procurement activities and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of complex supplier arrangements, including sourcing, RFP preparation, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and contract administration
- Lead procurement activities for technically complex and commercially sensitive goods / services
- Develop and review comprehensive contract Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) aligned with organizational requirements and industry standards
- Draft, review, and modify complex commercial contracts while ensuring compliance with legal and business requirements
- Implement robust risk management frameworks within contract lifecycle, including identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with Legal department on contract development and implementation
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Commerce, Finance, or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of supply chain / procurement experience in a complex technology environment
- Demonstrated expertise in contract Terms & Conditions development and interpretation
- Must be eligible to obtain reliability clearance
- Must have been working in Canada for minimum 5 years
- Experience in telecom or satellite industry preferred
- Strong contract management and negotiation skills
- Professional procurement designation (CSCMP) is an asset
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Bilingual (English / French) is an asset
Note : This is not a people management role - the position focuses on project and vendor management rather than direct reports.
