The Role :
As a Junior CAD Technician, you will play a vital role in our engineering / design team, supporting the creation and modification of technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software.
Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with senior technicians and engineers to produce accurate and detailed drawings that adhere to project specifications and standards.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development within the field of CAD design.
The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes :
- Technical degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution.
- Experience with an Engineering firm in oil and gas or energy-related industries is considered an asset.
- Site and / or shop experience in the oil and gas industry is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel to field locations may be required from time to time.
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable facilitating multiple projects in a demanding environment with a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to take direction from more experienced designers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare Plot Plans, PFD’s, P&IDs, piping plans and details, isometrics, material takeoffs, and tie-in details according to engineering specifications and client requirements under the direction and supervision of a more senior designer.
- Demonstrate proficiency in producing and updating P&IDs.
- Maintain drafting quality control and interface with other disciplines.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in software, and internal processes.
- Contribute to special projects such as developing internal drafting standards as available or assigned.
