We are hiring a full-time, permanent Manager, US Commercial Services Finance position working out of Edmonton, AB.
The Manager, US Commercial Services Finance is accountable for the performance of the financial reporting and analysis functions, including providing financial analysis and advising on accounting treatment in support of business development activities, and the timely and accurate completion of budgets, forecasts and Long-Term Plan.
This position may be eligible for EPCOR’s hybrid work program.
What you’d be responsible for
- Identifying the necessary budget requirements for the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
- Leading, developing, implementing, and reviewing financial reporting and analysis processes to mitigate risks, and ensure compliance to policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Recommend and develop revisions to procedures / processes and create innovative solutions for optimal service delivery.
- Planning and leading the preparation of the annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-term-plan for the US Commercial Services business.
- Ensuring adherence to IFRS for accounting for all operations and business development initiatives.
- Leading or supporting finance related integration activities for new US Commercial Services businesses / operations.
- Maintaining high quality processes, documentation and internal controls, including adherence to CSox requirements.
- Reviewing and providing inputs to valuation models, reviewing contracts and acting as primary Finance contact to business development teams.
Translating business cases into budgets and implementing into financial reporting.
Identifying potential accounting treatment issues and addressing highly complex accounting treatment issues for new commercial contracts and business development initiatives.
What’s required to be successful
- Diploma or Degree (or Equivalent) in Business, Finance or Accounting is required
- Accredited Accounting Designation is required
- 7+ years in progressively responsible Accounting roles
- 2+ years of Team Leadership experience
- Understanding of financial accounting / reporting, and regulatory concepts related to rate-regulated operations
- Understanding of the Oracle financial system, Adaptive Insights and Office Connect
- Understanding of Accounting for Acquisitions, Commercial Development Projects and divestitures will be considered a significant asset
- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting practices and policies
- Experience providing accounting expertise related to new commercial contracts and businesses, completing accounting research and drafting accounting position papers
- Experience in business case development and analysis will be considered an asset Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
