What is the opportunity?
As a Relationship Manager supporting our Indigenous markets , you are aligned to a business segment that focuses on advancing the growth of Indigenous economies, communities, and people through an integrated delivery of financial services to Indigenous governments, businesses, not-for-profits and related organizations .
As a professional relationship manager with strong business development skills and advanced financial acumen, you are responsible for new client acquisition, deepening and growing existing client relationships, portfolio management, and profitability.
You excel at delivering timely and relevant financial advice to commercial businesses within your industry of focus, aligning sales, products, risk policy and market strategies to deliver customized solutions specific for your clients' needs.
You successfully execute RBC and CFS strategic business priorities of delivering a highly differentiated client experience to enhance client loyalty and grow revenue.
What will you do?
- Manage a portfolio of Indigenous Commercial clients , taking responsibility for the overall relationship strategy within the client's RBC relationship team
- Provide an exceptional client experience by delivering proactive and customized business and financial advice, demonstrating a deep understanding of your clients' business and industry
- Dedicated to building and nurturing long-term partnerships, our specialists apply first-hand experience and expertise to helping your businesses, councils, and organizations achieve their goals.
- Acquire and grow Indigenous client relationships, collaborating with the client relationship team and bringing the full breadth of RBC to businesses, business owners and their employees
- Work in close partnership and collaboration with CFS Finance to manage and support complex client credit needs, demonstrating strong credit acumen, as well as sound risk mitigation and portfolio oversight
- Foster internal and external strategic partnerships and centers of influence (COIs) to meet the business' strategic goals while focusing on target market clients
- Ensure clients are enabled to leverage digital solutions for themselves and their business
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum 3-5 years commercial banking experience
- Deep and proven client-centricity, business development, and relationship management excellence
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- New client acquisition skills (i.e., pitching the value proposition, lead generation, initial customer contact and cold calling, asking for referrals)
- Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e., web based meetings, social media, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)
Nice-to-have
- Credit skills including assessment of risk and financial analysis, credit structuring / solutions and presenting the deal
- Specialized industry expertise in a past role (e.g., real estate, healthcare, agriculture)
- University degree, ideally in commerce, business administration, or related experience
