Wood is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a strong engineering team to plan, schedule, and execute exciting and technically complex engineering projects.
Salary Range : $100,000 - $150,000

- Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of related experience.
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in BC, Canada, and maintain a clear disciplinary record and good standing with EGBC.
- Good knowledge of EGBC requirements.
- Experience with mechanical and piping design codes, calculations, equipment selection, and specification development.
- Experience with project controls, budgets, and schedules within an engineering consulting environment.
- Experience in mineral processing and mining, or similar heavy industrial experience.
- Experience working with various vendors and in-depth understanding the equipment package engineering and vendor management requirements.
- Experience working with international execution centres.
- Related experience from conceptual level execution to detailed design and construction.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proactive personality and willingness to coach and guide less experience engineers and designers.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effective organizational and presentation skills.
- Must be in or willing to relocate to Vancouver, BC.
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
- The following will be considered assets : Site experience. Strong client management experience. Detailed hydraulic analysis experience.
Experience working on the owner or vendor side. Knowledge of fabrication. International experience. Registered or ability to register in other provinces in Canada or states in the US.
Strong design knowledge of material handling equipment such as conveyors, transfer stations, chutes and launders.
