THIS IS A 1 YEAR, IN OFFICE, CONTRACT POSITION
ROLE
Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Coordinator will be responsible for the creation and submission of HR documents to various departments, reviewing safety submissions from sites, assisting the Site Supervisors with administrative tasks related to HR and Safety in the field, and other various administrative tasks related to the HR department.
The coordinator will provide ongoing support creating health and safety awareness, ensuring corporate compliance with legislation, up to date training and certifications, internal audits and inspections, statistical reports and consistently working towards maintaining and fostering a safe working environment and positive representation of the Human Resources department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Assists in the initiation, development and implementation of health and safety awareness through programs, systems, committees and engagement activities
- Answering questions from various organizations, and employees
- Submit ITA hours on behalf of field workers and manage registrations of CIBP Benefits and ITA
- Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee by maintaining up to date knowledge of all legislation, organizing committee meetings, developing and managing the health and safety program, performing investigations, maintaining up to date certifications and records, handling escalations, generating and completing reports, managing first aid kit supplies and procedures, implementing corrective procedures.
- Coordinate WCB claims and injury management at the direction of the HSE Coordinator including completion of paperwork, issuing and monitoring modified duties, creating and administrating safe return to work programs for injured workers and focusing on implementing safe working procedures following outlined policies and procedures.
- Assists in the onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training of employees ensuring compliance and completion of training programs and associated administration
- Ensuring field employee records are kept up to date
- Identifies, investigates, reports, and provides guidance relative to root causes for incidents, employee safety programs and regulatory compliance pertaining to health and safety.
- Ensuring HR + Safety programs are up to date (SiteDocs, Microsoft Access, Synerion, ITA, CIBP, Microsoft Office Suite (excel / word / outlook))
- Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of HR experience a requirement
- Knowledge of the BC electrical contracting industry and regulations an asset
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team in a busy environment.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime may be required
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
