We are currently seeking a motivated, impactful and agile individual to join RSL’s People and Culture team as the People and Culture Generalist.
POSITION OVERVIEW :
The People and Culture Generalist will play a key role in supporting business leaders in integrating People and Culture best practices in talent management, talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee engagement and retention, total rewards, and employee relations.
The People and Culture Generalist will report to the Manager of People and Culture. In this role, the incumbent will work closely with the Office Administrator and the Payroll Administrator.
Please note : the role will be based at RSL’s headquarters in South Burnaby. The incumbent will partner closely with employees at all levels across the business.
As such, the remote work option, while available, will be limited.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the Manager, People and Culture by participating in the development and implementation of influential people management strategies, practices, standards, and initiatives in areas such as employee relations, workforce planning, coaching, succession planning, performance management, and training and development
- Lead all aspects of talent acquisition to create a fantastic candidate experience
- Manage the exit process, including conducting ad-hoc exit interviews
- Lead the design, planning and execution of employer branding strategies related to recruitment and talent attraction
- Coordinate, schedule and conduct leadership, management, interpersonal skills and other training to improve employee performance.
- Maintain a high level of visibility, accessibility and interaction with all managers and employees at all locations.
- Be the content owner for all People and Culture related content online internally and externally
- Collect employee feedback and determine follow up actions from engagement surveys, exit interviews, and other feedback forums
- Analyze data and observations across the organization, highlight trends and recommend / drive solutions, as appropriate
- Liaison with payroll administrator regularly to provide payroll backup
- Act as the primary point of contact for all employees
- Reception relief and support / back-up as required
- Participate and engage in special project teams as requested.

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management
- CPHR designation is preferred
- A suitable alternate combination of education and experience may also be considered
Experience
- Experience using HR management information systems
- You will have to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. No two days will ever be the same
- Minimum of three to five years of progressive People and Culture experience
- Proven experience in talent acquisition
- Advanced relationship management skills to build productive, collaborative partnerships between management, employees, and other internal / external stakeholders
- Advanced analytical skills and ability to apply sound judgment in problem-solving
- Previous experience in a privately held or family-owned business would be an asset
- Advanced communication skills with excellent listening, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Self-motivated team player with high energy and ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills with strong results / goal orientation
- Solid knowledge of the relevant employment, labour, and human rights legislation
- Comfortable with wearing different hats
