Job Summary :
ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Process Safety Engineer to join our Toronto Engineering team! The primary function and purpose is to provide Process Safety Management (PSM) support to all assigned ERCO Worldwide sites and including implementation, monitoring and facilitation of the Tier 1 & 2 PSM elements.
Location : This position will be based out of one of the following ERCO sites : Toronto, North Vancouver, Saskatoon, or Port Edwards (US).
Duties & Responsibilities :
Support corporate led process safety initiatives ( Major Hazzard Risk assessments studies and Electrical Area Classification for process area etc.
to ensure program awareness and implementation is achieved in effective and timely manner.
- Facilitate risk assessment studies ( PHA, LOPA's etc.) for proper hazard identification and associated risk reduction and / or mitigation.
- Resolve assigned PSM recommendations from various PSM studies. Also, assist site personnel with resolving PSM recommendations.
This will assist in achieving expected risk reduction from associated hazards.
- Work with the Manager, Process Safety Management to develop corporate procedures and practices for establishing guidance for safe operation.
- Participate as a team member on auditing of the ERCO sites to ensure PSM program compliance.
- Represent ERCO on external committees and at conferences.
Key Attributes & Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Chemical Engineering is required
- Professional Engineering License (strongly preferred)
- 6-10 years of experience in new process design / commissioning and support of plant operations & projects
- Strong health and safety mindset
- Valid driver’s license and passport for travel
