As the successful candidate, as Manager, Engineering Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations for wastewater treatment, septage treatment, waste collection, waste reduction, waste transfer, and water distribution facilities as well as the mosquito control program.
This position reports to the Associate Director, Engineering Services.
In your role, you will :
Report to the Associate Director, Engineering Services on matters relating to the operation and management of Engineering Services facilities, programs, projects, and personnel.
Consistently evaluate performance against budgets to ensure service is delivered in an efficient and fiscally responsible manner.
- Provide leadership and mentorship, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages professional growth and a respectful workplace.
- Participate in strategic planning and establishing departmental workplans and goals, budgeting and use of software systems as they relate to the utility systems monitoring and compliance
- Under the direction of the Associate Director, Engineering Services, manage engineering projects throughout the lifecycle including defining project scope, funding sources, scheduling, project start-up, permits and engineering management processes.
- Administer various contracts pertaining to liquid and solid waste management services including contract preparation, negotiation, relationship management, conflict resolution, and ensuring contract compliance.
- Provide professional advice through the preparation of reports and business cases for the Associate Director, Engineering Services.
On occasion, present reports to the Regional Board and its Committees, and member municipalities.
- Act as a staff resource to Board Committees on Engineering Services and programs.
- Advise on policies and procedures for all applicable programs required to achieve compliance with regulations relating to public health, employee safety, environmental impacts, water systems, wastewater facilities and solid waste operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
As the ideal candidate, you will have a degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
You will have strong leadership and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively time manage project deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
Strong proficiency in MS Outlook including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is a must.
This is an exempt position that has a salary range of $110,237 - $122,486 - $134,734. It is the RDCO's philosophy to pay in the middle of the range for a fully qualified applicant.
