RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.
Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

Position summary
CANTRAIN is a national clinical trial training program (CTTP) funded and created to respond to a call by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR).
Its vision is to offer the best, certified and standardized clinical trials’ training and mentoring program across Canada accompanied by a suite of Salary Awards for graduate and postgraduate Trainees (GPT) in a real-world setting.
The position reports to the Manager of Salary & Intership Awards and to the National Executive Director & Chief Business Officer (National ED / CBO) of CANTRAIN

General Duties
The Coordinator of the Awards programs at CANTRAIN will closely collaborate with the Manager to continue on the operations of the existing programs for the 3rd cohort of the current grant project in 2025-26.
The main roles and responsibilities of the Coordinator will be to :
- Drive the existing programs,
- Operate the existing JotForm Portal platform created for the salary awards programs,
- Review the application guidelines with other CTTPs, partners and co-funders,
- Develop new communication tools,
- Communicate with health funds / research foundations, and other public / private organization interested into collaboration and co-funding,
- Engage with other CTTPs to join CANTRAIN Awards’ programs,
- Review the evaluation grid specific for each awards based on CTTPs’ specificities and offerings,
- Recruit, constitute and manage a national college of reviewers,
- Implement the review process, chair the committee and compile all the scores and comments, share the average and summary to Applicants and their supervisors,
- Coordinate the letters of offers / notification of awards,
- Engage all awardees and their supervisors into CANTRAIN and other CTTPs’ learning and training programs,
- Engage awardees’ supervisor to join CANTRAIN CONNECT, the college of mentors,
- Evaluate performance and identify ways the organization can expand and grow either of these programs.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Coordinator of the Salary Awards programs of CANTRAIN will also :
- Contribute with her / his expertise to the development of certain additional awards, potentially contribute to the delivery of such awards programs,
- Participate in CANTRAIN meetings of standing committees, task forces and work groups,
- Engage in internal / external communications, effective efficiency solution finding to current pathways as well as growth & expansion roadmaps.

Doctorate Degree
- BSc, MSc or PhD, with experience relative to medical and health sciences, in the development and conduct of clinical trials,
- Multi-disciplinary skill-stack on the backs of public academic institutions,
- Knowledge of academic standard.
